Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her professional title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist signed to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. In October of 2016 Ari Lennox debuted her Pho EP. It was here that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May of 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012, with the debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she continued to release her music on the internet, including her self launched single Bound. The track Sweat it is featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole had her submit her tracks for the Dreamville Team in the following year, as he wanted Rihanna to be able work with her on some references. On December 28, 2008 it was revealed that Rihanna had been contracted with Dreamville Records. She was featured on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. On October 21, 2016 her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening performance. The singer also performed on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus together with Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video later released in September. Her second single Grampa on November 9. On November 13 she dropped two more singles, titled The No One or Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single February 26, 2019, to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured with Cole on her Creed II sound track on November 16. A music video debuted on February 20, 2019 to accompany the track. Within a period of a week, the video had more than 3,000,000 views. In December 2018 the singer was a part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
